November 24, 2005 Update from Mercedes Corby

Thank you again to everyone for their continued support to Schapelle and to our family. Sorry we don't have any recent pictures of Schapelle as no cameras are allowed in the prison.

Schapelle is in good health at the moment and has also been in a good frame of mind. There are now 14 girls in Schapelle's cell at the moment. (Still no electricity other then the light that is on 24 hours).

It's very humid here in Bali now as it is the rainy season but Schapelle seems to be adapting well to the hot weather. This time last year, it was very very hard for her to sleep in the heat and she needed a hand held fan with her all day.

Schapelle is still receiving letters and postcards so thank you all very much. Letters take from 1 to 2 weeks to arrive and the guards don't open normal letters but will open up any bulky ones. Also thanks to everyone who has sent care packages. I can't tell you enough how much these are appreciated.. It is good to know that Schapelle is not forgotten and that there are so many people who care.

Her Lawyers are working very hard and Mr Erwin has been in Jakarta this last week working together with Mr Hotman on the case and appeal papers. Mr Haposan has stayed in Bali and has visited Schapelle only today [Thurs, Nov 24, 2005] to fill her in on things. The Lawyers are still pushing to have Schapelle acquitted and feel confident the judges in Jakarta will look at all the evidence and set her free. They have done a very thorough job with the writing of the appeal arguments.

Christmas is going to be a sad day as it will be Schapelle's second Christmas in that place [Kerobokan]. We really believed that she would be home by now but we will make the most of the day and have a Christmas lunch together and then go to the church service in the prison church.

Again, thank you for your prayers, your good wishes, letters of support, care packages and daily encouragement to Schapelle... it means everything to us!

Mercedes
